In-Country Manager for the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program, AusAID, November 2006 to Present

AYAD LogoThe Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program supports skilled young Australians ages 18 to 30 who want to live, work and make a difference in the Asia Pacific region. An Australian Government, AusAID initiative, the AYAD Program aims to strengthen mutual understanding between Australia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and make a positive contribution to development. Every year, the AYAD Program places 400 young Australians on short-term assignments (3-12 months) in developing countries across the Asia Pacific region. AYADs work with local counterparts in partner Host Organisations to achieve sustainable development outcomes through capacity building, skills transfer and institutional strengthening. AYAD assignments cover a diverse range of sectors including Education, Environment, Gender, Governance, Health, Infrastructure, Rural Development and Trades.

In-Country Manager for the Volunteering for International Development from Australia (VIDA) Program, AusAID, November 2006 to Present

VIDA LogoVIDA is Australia’s newest international volunteer program. VIDA places skilled Australian volunteers in developing countries in the Asia Pacific region. VIDA volunteers work with local staff to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development in the communities in which they work through skills exchange, institutional strengthening and capacity building. VIDA is funded by the Australian Government’s overseas aid agency, AusAID, as part of the Australian Government Volunteer Program.

In-Country Manager for the Australian Defence Cooperation Scholarship Program, March 2010 to Present

DCSP LogoThe Australian Defence Organisation (ADO) values the development of strong and constructive contacts with regional defence and security organisations. To aid in the development of these ties, and to help meet the demand from the region for increasing highly skilled defence personnel, the ADO has instituted the Defence Cooperation Scholarship Program (DCSP) at the postgraduate level. The scholarship scheme aims to provide senior and middle-ranking officers and defence civilians, with prospects for leadership in regional defence organisations and the opportunity to further develop their skills. The DCSP is offered to countries in the North/South East Asian and South West Pacific regions with approximately 70 scholarships  offered each year in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia, expanding to Tonga, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2010.

The Endeavour Awards brings leading researchers, executives and students to Australia to undertake short or long term study, research and professional development in a broad range of disciplines and enables Australians to do the same abroad.
